The Access Diploma Law is for adults who have no or few academic qualifications, but who would like to proceed to a degree course or on to professional training. The course is studied full-time over one academic year and includes subjects necessary for successful completion of the Diploma and entry to higher level study in Social Work, Law, Youth Justice and Therapeutics. Swindon College welcomes applications from all members of the community. We seek to provide for the individual needs of all of our students. The modules of study include; Law in Social Work, Judicial Systems, Contract Law, Non-Fatal Offences against a Person, Study Skills.

A programme of exam practice is also included to help students feel better prepared. Continuous assessments will include short and long essays, reports, project work, posters, presentations, individual research and group work. Students are encouraged to evaluate themselves and their progress and to participate in discussions with fellow students Assessment is built around achieving credits at different levels within the units, which make up each module or subject.
