Functional Skills were designed to address the concerns of employers that many young people and adults lacked a firm understanding of the basic English, Maths and ICT. Studying Functional Skills will help you to develop the transferable skills you need in everyday life and at work.

Name: Functional Skills Level 2 English Qualification title: Functional Skills qualification in English Qualification type: Assessment English Functional Skills English is assessed through three units: Unit 1: Speaking, Listening & Communication is assessed by your teacher and you have an opportunity to meet each criterion at least once, through formal and informal discussions. Unit 2: Reading is assessed by an exam. At Levels 1 and 2, the exam is also available as an on-screen test. Unit 3: Writing is assessed by an exam. At Levels 1 and 2, the exam is also available as an on-screen test. Each unit contributes equally to your overall grade.
