This highly practical course in agricultural and environmental studies is suitable for students with few formal qualifications who are looking to enter the land-based sector. Vocationally focused, you will learn how to work safely, care for animals and maintain structures as well as gain first hand experiences of working on and around farms. Course Content includes: Safe and effective working practices in land-based industries; Develop performance in land-based studies; Introduction to wildlife and conservation; Use transport and assist with maintenance of tools and equipment; Introduction to crop systems; Assist with the movement, handling and accommodation of animals; Carry out tractor operations; Functional skills. Successful students can progress onto the Level 2 Diploma in Agriculture, 30 Credit Extended Certificate, 60 Credit Diploma or progress straight into industry
