Following on from our Junior Cooking Academy programme, Get a head start in your career by spending two hours each Friday learning to cook tasty and exciting dishes, whilst making new friends. Create more complex dishes and enhance your cookery skills. Learn about health and safety, nutrition and hygiene whilst working with food and within a kitchen environment. You will learn through demonstrations and practical activity under the supervision of experienced, friendly chefs in a relaxed environment. By the end of the programme learners will be able to have a more independent approach to cookery, put different cooking methods in place and follow recipes to create dishes at home. The 1853 Senior Cooking Academy course runs for two hours on a Friday for 8 weeks at a cost of £8 per week. The cost covers tuition, all ingredients and protective clothing. Learners will take home the dishes that they make. At the end of the course learners will receive a recipe booklet with all the dishes that they have made and a certificate of achievement.
