This course is ideal for those who have worked with flower paste and wish to extend their knowledge of the craft. You will have the opportunity to develop your creative flair and develop your artistic style in decorating cakes using sugarpaste or flower paste. The design will be based from the book Flower Fairies by Celia Mary Barker. You will learn how to gauge proportions, paint facial features, dress the figure and pipe hair using royal icing, complemented with Snowdrop Sugarflowers and toadstools to add the finishing touch. You will learn how to colour flower paste to give a graduated effect and how to use a balling tool to thin and refine the edges of the petals. The finished Fairy will be presented on a sugar plaque with the Snowdrops and Toadstools and is perfect for the centrepiece on a special occasion cake or an anniversary, or birthday. At the end of the course you will have the knowledge and confidence to produce a Flower Fairy or Elf and how to make Snowdrops. The course is not suitable for those who have no experience of sugarcraft. Topics will include: Moulding a mushroom Making a 3D Fairy or Elf Piping Royal icing Making Snowdrops.
