Stalybridge Celtic Football Club has teamed up with Hopwood Hall College to offer a one year Level 2 BTEC Extended Certificate based at Woodley Sports Centre in Stockport. You will learn about different aspects of the sports industry including fitness training, nutrition, understanding how the body works, preparing to coach a range of sports activities, as well as organising sports events. In addition to this you will have the opportunity to undertake work experience alongside playing football in the BCS ECFA League. Students will receive coaching from Stalybridge Celtic and Hopwood Hall College coaches. This course has been developed to meet the expanding employment opportunities within the industry including: health and fitness facilities, coaching/teaching, professional sport and performance. Topics on this course include: - Principles of anatomy and physiology in sport - Sports coaching - Practical team sports - Sports nutrition - Psychology for sports performance - Fitness training and programming - Sport as a business - Sports and exercise massage - Anatomy and physiology for sport - Injury in sport
