Name: Children's Care- Learning & Development BTEC National Diploma Qualification title: Vocational study not leading to a recognised qualification, Education and Training (SSA 13) Qualification type: Assessment Classroom based study and assessment is via assignments and course work. In addition you will need to pass your professional practice unit which comprises. 800 hours of assessed work practice with children in following ranges 0 -1 year- 2-4 years and 4-7 years in Nursery- School and Special Needs. Entry requirements

All students working with children will need to have an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Check; this may affect your application. Please discuss this with your interviewing tutor. You need to bring pen- notebooks and folders to every lesson. It is expected that you will bring a memory stick to save and back up your work. Educational trips are part of our course and students will be expected to contribute towards them- this must be paid at enrolment. You will also need to provide costs for text books- a polo shirt for work placement and trips during the course. You should allow £120 to cover these costs and £60 for your Criminal Records Bureau check. Good levels of English and Maths are important for your success in your course- your chosen vocation and life. Throughout your course you will continue to develop your English and Maths skills in your vocational classes. If you haven't achieved an A*-C grade in English or Maths at GCSE- or a Level 2 Functional Skill- you will also be working towards a qualification in English or Maths at a level that will enable you to progress towards these grades. If you have a Learning Difficulty or Disability please let us know when you apply. You will be offered support in your interview.
