Accounting Diploma (AAT) (Apprenticeship)

This is the final level of the AAT qualification covering more advanced elements of basic book-keeping and costing. Content: (Mandatory Units) - Financial Performance - Financial statements - Budgeting - Internal Control and Accounting Systems (Optional Units - Take 2 options from the five) - Business Tax - Personal Tax - External Auditing - Cash Management - Credit Control In addition as an apprentice you will need to study functional skills in Maths and English at level 2 unless you have an exemption. (Exemptions are offered for GCSEs at grade A-C in the last five years) You will also complete an Employer Rights and Responsibilities Workbook  during the course.

Entry requirements

The course runs from September to June for the core units. Optional units are then usually completed September to November in the following year. Please note it may be possible for some students to complete in one year by completing options alongside core units. Please discuss this aspect with a tutor prior to enrolment. It is a requirement of the Apprenticeship programme that your employer is involved in your training to the extent that they will be visited periodically from a member of our Apprenticeship Liaison Team to discuss your progress. It is a requirement of the Apprenticeship programme that a contribution to the course fee is paid for by your employer. A minimum of 90% attendance is expected. If you have Learning Difficulty or Disability please let us know when you apply. You will be offered support in your interview. Solihull College offers full time and part time courses for businesses and residents in Birmingham- Walsall- Wolverhampton- Coventry Warwickshire and the whole of the West Midlands.
