During the two years of the course you will undertake practical ‘hands on’ projects to develop your core creative skills and software expertise. You will learn to use industry standard equipment and software during workshop sessions and guided studio time using working on both PCs and iMacs. The software we use includes: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Flash, Autodesk 3DS Max, Autodesk Mudbox, UDK, Dragon Frame, ToonBoom Studio. You will learn about how the creative industries work and be encouraged to work on live projects for clients to gain commercial experience. Each year we hold an exhibition of students work for an audience of invited guests who include prospective employers as well as your friends and family. This qualification will give you the starting knowledge and skills you need for employment in the creative industries or entry to university. Previous students have gone on to work as camera operators, animators, photographers, game designers, concept artists, 3D modellers, creative writers and graphic design artists after completing study at a higher level.
