History A Level. The study of History will appeal to everyone who wishes to learn how and why the world evolved to be as it is today. Furthermore the subject is regarded as a keystone academic subject by competitive universities. During the course you will study crucial periods of both early and modern history, the ramifications of which still resonate today. During Year 1 you will explore the origins and consequences of the brutal civil wars, which transformed both Britain and America. In Year 2 you will study the US Civil Rights Movement from the 1860s until the 1990s. This charts the heroic fight of numerous Civil Rights Activists in their attempts to gain equality for all Americans, regardless of race, gender or ethnicity. A2MHIS
