The Competency qualification in this Apprenticeship is the Laboratory Science NVQ Diploma Level 2 The Technical Qualification is the Applied Science EDEXCEL BTEC Diploma Level 2 NVQ Diploma Mandatory Units. LSC2 001 Maintaining health and safety in a laboratory environment 5 Credits LSC2 002 Maintaining effective and efficient working relationships in the laboratory 5 Credits LSC2 003 Receiving sorting transporting and storing laboratory specimens samples under supervision 9 Credits LSC2 004 Communicating laboratory information to authorised personnel under supervision 6 Credits Optional Units. There are two pathways available dependent upon the needs of the learner and the employer. The Clinical Analysis pathway requires the mandatory unit LSC2 005 Accessing registering and inputting patient data in a LIMS under supervision 6 Credits with a further two optional units. The Compound Analysis pathway requires the mandatory unit LSC3 015 Measuring weighing and preparing compounds and solutions for laboratory use 16 Credits with a further two optional units
