GCSE Physics or Dual Award Science, grade B or better and GCSE Mathematics grade B or better are required for this course. Physicists try to understand how the Universe works. By better understanding the universe, they can improve our lives as well as satisfy their curiosity. Students will learn the basic rules governing forces, waves, electricity, magnetism and quantum theory. They will apply these ideas to all aspects of the world as we observe it – from distant galaxies to sub-atomic particles – from moving vehicles to computer chips. Students will develop analytical and problem solving skills which will enable them to pursue a whole range of further studies or career options.
