This is a two year course for people wishing to train to become professional counsellors. The course content consists of: Year 1 - Advanced counselling skills, - person-centred counselling theory and practice, - comparisons with other counselling models, - ethical and professional issues, and - personal development. Year 2 - Diversity, - supervision, - research, - personal development, - integrating theory into practice.
Name: Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling level 4 Qualification title: QT7 Qualification type: Other regulated/accredited qualification Assessment Continuous internal and external assessment involving case studies, observed practice, presentations and academic assignments. You will be required to submit a portfolio at the end of the course, linked to your placement, for external assessment. There is a two night, weekend residential each year for all counselling students. You will also carry out a counselling placement of 100 hours of one-to-one work with clients; you will be supervised on your placement to meet the course requirements.
