You will be employed in industry, earning a wage whilst gaining the skills and qualifications employers need. Job titles could include: junior stylist, stylist, senior stylist, hairdresser, technician, salon manager. You must have an employer who will support you through your Apprenticeship and allow you time off work to attend college. Many people find their own job or are already employed but if not, college staff can help you find employment. The Apprenticeship will include: Intermediate Apprenticeship (level 2) Knowledge based qualification - level 2, Competence based qualification - level 2, English - level 1, maths - level 1, Employee rights and responsibilities. Advanced Apprenticeship (level 3) Knowledge based qualification - level 3, Competence based qualification - level 3, English - level 2, maths - level 2, Employee rights and responsibilities. You will cover: health and safety, advising and consulting with clients, shampooing and conditioning and treating the hair and scalp, changing hair colour, styling and dressing hair, cutting hair using basic techniques, salon reception duties.
