AS Law gives students an understanding of the English legal system including police powers, the courts, sentencing, solicitors, juries, judges, magistrates and how laws are made. A2 Law focuses on criminal law, offences and defence including murder, manslaughter, burglary, robbery, theft, intoxication, duress. Candidates who achieve this qualification will be prepared to study law, criminology and sociology at degree level. This qualification will support candidates working towards careers as solicitors, barristers, police, social workers or teachers.
