Duration : 1 year This course is an introduction to beauty created to help you gain an appreciation of the industry. It has been especially designed to develop your practical skills through introducing you to the beauty industries and how you should present a professional image. You will gain an insight into salon duties and health and safety issues',' as well as learning how to help with facial and nail treatments. Units include: Make-up and the art of photgraphic make-up Reception skills Underpinning theory knowledge Anatomy and physiology Functional skills in English',' Maths and ICT are a key part of this course. Assessment will be based on theory and practical work. Please note that you will be required to purchase equipment and clothing from an external supplier for this course. Entry Requirements: You need four GCSEs (grade D-G',' including maths and English at grade E)',' good communication skills and personal presentation. Your enrolment is subject to a successful interview and references. Career Options: After you have successfully completed this course you can progress onto a Level 2 course. You could be eligible for an Apprenticeship.
