On this course you will learn the basic foundations of health and fitness and develop skills and knowledge to improve your body confidence., , Topics covered include:, , • How to understand the concepts of body image and wellbeing., • Personal development and how you personal skills, abilities and choices can be improved., • Fitness and exercise, • Healthy Eating, • Physical appearance, • Communication, , At the end of this course, you will:, • Know more about health, wellbeing and lifestyle, • Be able to create you own SMART lifestyle goals, • Understand the influences of body image, • Know what is meant by self esteem, • Recognise ways of building confidence and self esteem, • Understand how body image is portrayed in the media, • Reflect on how to build self confidence, This course is for anyone who would like to kick start a new fitness regime or healthy lifestyle., , To assist us in providing a safe and healthy environment for you to exercise you will be asked to complete a Confidential Health Questionnaire. If you have suffered from any of the conditions listed, please check with a medical practitioner to find out whether this course is suitable for you., - Do you ever have chest pain?, - Have you had any operations or injuries in the last year?, - Do you often feel faint or dizzy?, - Are you on long term medication?, - Do you have high or low blood pressure?, - Do you have a bone or joint problem, such as Arthritis, Osteoporosis, back or knee problems? , ,

Notepad and pen., , Please read the following information carefully. You may be advised not to take part if you are not dressed appropriately. You will need supportive, comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement. Denim jeans, formal trousers, shorts, skirts or dresses are not suitable for this activity. Sports trainers are needed to support the feet and ankles. Outdoor sandals, shoes or boots are not appropriate for this class. , Students may wish to bring a mat or a towel to complete the floor-based exercises.
