This 'Creative Writing for your Blog' one day course in Maidstone is designed to build students' confidence in writing and sharing work online and will, therefore, explore narrative techniques, style and tone appropriate to the genre. Students with some experience of creating and contributing to blogs will be helped to hone their writing skills for maximum online impact. Students with no experience of writing for blogs are also welcome as information and advice about setting up blogs will be available and will be discussed. , , By the end of the course, students should be able to:, , • Identify individual purpose and style for writing, • Recognise different ways to generate ideas for writing, • Record, reflect and report effectively with minimal word-count, • Draft, proof-read and edit work efficiently, , The course will involve some reading and note taking, but will also provide a range of opportunities to write creatively and informatively in blog format., , N.B. This is a creative writing course and as such it is focussed on the techniques required for blogging. This course will not include discussion of any of the legal issues which may be associated with blogging such as privacy or image copyrights. This course in Maidstone is for beginners and people with some interest in creative writing who ares considering using a blog to publish or promote their writing. , , You do not need to use a computer on this course as the focus is on the techniques used for writing for blogs however, you may practice the skills you learn on a computer during the day course. If you intend to use a computer you will need basic computer skills, (you should be able to use a keyboard and mouse and have previous experience of accessing the Internet) but you do not need any previous experience of blogs.
