Would you like to make a garment that fits you perfectly? This course is a step by step guide to creating a pattern to fit your own unique shape. We will take a pattern from a garment that you love to wear because it fits so well or will create a pattern using a bought pattern as a block. In the 5 weeks you will be able to sew a mock up and make the necessary alterations to your pattern. This is a short pattern cutting course and does not cover making up your finished garment. Some previous clothesmaking experience required. Entry requirements

Please bring a 30cm/12" ruler, a right angle set square, cellotape, a fine marker, pencil and rubber. Pattern cutting paper will be provided. You may want to bring some paper to take notes during demonstrations. For the first class please bring a garment or bought pattern which you would like to use as a pattern block. You will need a basic sewing kit, some sewing thread and some fabric, such as an old sheet, to make your mock up garment., , Sewing machines are provided. If you wish to use your own sewing machine in the class, please bring a copy of the manual and ensure it has been recently serviced.
