Keep Flexible - Yoga for Body and Mind

For beginners this is a gentle lead into learning basic stretches and postures leading to flexibility and strength. For experienced practitioners, you will develop your flexibility and deepen your understanding of basic stretches and postures. You can learn to co-ordinate breathing with movement which enhances focus and awareness. Activities will be adapted to suit individual needs and capabilities. You can also learn to re-integrate mind and body through flexible yoga and to become more aware of the needs of your own body. However, as with all Yoga classes we advise anyone with a pre-existing medical condition to seek advice from their GP before exercising., , Simple meditation and relaxation techniques will be incorporated into the flow of the class. You can discover for yourself the techniques you find most beneficial to achieving rest and clarity. Your tutor will suggest ways that you can apply them to your daily life. This course is for anybody interested in learning yoga basics or improving basic yoga practice further in a mixed group. You will need supportive, comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement. Denim jeans, formal trousers, skirts or dress are not suitable for this activity. You should wear shoes with a soft sole. Sandals, boots or any footwear with a high heel are not recommended. You may be advised not to take part if you are not dressed appropriately. , , Students need to bring a mat to work on and a blanket.
