Learn to Sew - Beginners

If you would llike to find out all about your sewing machine whilst working on a few simple sewing projects then this course is ideal for you., You will find out how to put in a zip, make a variety of different seams, make buttonholes along with how to read and use a pattern. These skills will be included in a variety of sewing projects such as simple cushions, bags, bunting and later in the course a simple cutting pattern. If you have competed either of the two previous courses the tutor will work with you to devise projects tp develop your skills further. This course is suitable for complete beginners but would also be a good refresher course, Students are welcome to bring their own machines or use one at the centre. Please note as with all our craft courses, good manual dexterity is needed

A well equipped sewing kit to include large and small scissors, hand and machine needles, seam ripper, tape measure, pins, threads. Paper scissors, ruler, notebook, pencil and rubber. As the course continues you will need to buy paper patterns, fabric and haberdashery- The tutor will give advice on these at the first session., , Please note that with all our craft courses, specialist equipment can be costly. Please do not buy anything until you are sure the course is running.
