Creative Writing - Advanced

UPDATED 20160113 14:00:41

Have you already some experience of creative writing and want to refine your skills? Then this Creative Writing - Advanced course in Canterbury is for you., The three terms will cover a mixture of poetry and prose, as well as a range of genres, styles and approaches - and the tutor is happy for the course to be somewhat student-led as she usually tries to accommodate requests and student wish-lists within her planning, as long as these advance and hone writing techniques. Term 1 will include a variety of topics, tasks and advice - including some on how to lengthen and improve writing without compromising its calibre or plot-line. Throughout the year there will be some input on reaching a wider audience beyond the confines of class, including information on competitions and various pathways to publication, and, also due to learner demand, there will be guidance on how to tackle, shape and draft a novel. Each separate term offered at this level and time is structured so that the tutor can respond to specific requests or needs from the attending writers. We aim to help finesse individual style and abilities - using a combination of input, set tasks and thorough critique in our workshops., , There is limited parking on site, but there is a public car park nearby and on-street parking. This Advanced Writing Course is for those with experience of creative writing, preferably including a related class and/or work-shopping (sharing your writing with others and both giving and receiving constuctive feedback) - though it is fine if this has been minimal. -The course would suit those wanting to test and enhance their ideas as well as continue to push forward with writing aspirations.
