Pottery - Handbuilding and Throwing

This course covers different handbuilding techniques such as pinching, coiling and slabbing. It also covers basic throwing and turning skills. You will be encouraged to make and experiment using a combination of these techniques. You will also be taught different decoration techniques to apply colour using slip, glaze and oxides., , By the end of the course, you should be able to:, • Be aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines , • Demonstrate and understand relevant techniques ., • Demonstrate successful use of relevant tools, equipment and resources , • Use appropriate methods to collect ideas, research and experimentation , • Successfully review and evaluate your own work, • Research and evaluate the work of others to inform your own work and development , , There is no set 'homework', but you are welcome to practise and do further work at home., There is no qualification for this course., This course is for beginners and those with some experience in handbuilding and throwing.
