Beginners will learn basic postures and those with some experience will develop their practice of basic yoga postures, breathing and relaxation techniques. Your tutor will explain the benefits and how you can apply them to your daily life. You will be recommended to practice regularly at home., , , , The following learning objectives are what students should achieve during the course:, , , , 1. Demonstrate and hold a variety of postures using correct alignment, , 2. Practice control of breath to assist relaxation and stamina, , 3. Identify the benefits of Yoga practice, , 4. Link a number of postures to perform a flowing sequence Anyone interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The course has been designed for anyone over the age of 55 who would like to improve their fitness and health. As with all Yoga classes we advise anyone with a pre-existing medical condition to seek advice from their GP before exercising.

Entry requirements

You will need supportive, comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement. Denim jeans, formal trousers, skirts or dress are not suitable for this activity. You should wear shoes with a soft sole. Sandals, boots or any footwear with a high heel are not recommended. You may be advised not to take part if you are not dressed appropriately. , Students need to bring a mat to work on and may wish to bring a towel.
