Using your Sewing Machine - First Steps

This is a comprehensive structured course to develop students sewing machine skills as well as increasing awareness of the full potential of their sewing machine. , , A range of stitches, threads, needles, fabrics and basic attachments will be shown to the students as they use their machine to make a variety of samples and learn new techniques. This course is suitable for anyone who has bought a sewing machine and wishes to develop their full potential when using it. It would benefit the students to bring their own machine ( and instruction book) but there are machines available at the centre for students to use if needed., , It is important to note that Craft courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity. , , If you need to bring a carer with you, or be accompanied by another person, please ask to speak with the Programme Manager before you enrol.

Entry requirements

Please bring a basic sewing kit to the first class ( pins, thread, scissors, tape measure etc) as well as notebook and pencil. If possible please bring your sewing machine ( and instruction book) but there will be machines at the centre for you to use if this is not convenient.
