Floristry - Posies, Nosegays, Corsages and Buttonholes

The focus of this course is to make items which can be part of floral decorations for celebrations such as a wedding or gifts or just for general interest. , By the end of this short course you should be able to , - create a decorative floral arrangements in the style detailed in the course title. , using fresh flowers and foliage, - learn about the mechanics used to make the arrangements , - learn about the care and conditioning of the plant material you have used , - incorporate design elements within the made arrangement, Everyone is welcome to join this course which is suitable for those new to the subject or with some experience. It could be seen as a taster course for anyone who wishes to discover their potential for floristry.

Entry requirements

You will need to provide your own plant material i.e. flowers and foliage, mechanics, containers and any accessories which may be needed for both weeks., For the first lesson we will make a buttonhole/s please bring 1 flower plus 1 spare either Roses or Carnations - fresh, of good quality and well conditioned i.e. it has had a good drink! Plus 5 medium sized leaves e.g. Ivy or similar - evergreen foliage is easier to work with plus anything else you would like to include in your buttonhole/corsage.
