Using a range of materials and processes, you will be shown how to work with colour and shape using your intuition and imagination, with a view to creating individual and expressive results. The emphasis is on learning and experimenting in a relaxed, informal atmosphere and gaining confidence in your ability to respond to subject matter in a way which is unique and personal to you. You will draw inspiration from a varied and interesting selection of primary and secondary sources and encouraged to bring your own areas of interest to the sessions. Returning students from the previous course will develop their skills further., , By the end of this course you should be able to,, • Mix a range of colours which are appropriate for a theme , • Experiment with mark making and colour , • Prepare a printing block and print from it, • Use collage to generate ideas, • Make intuitive decisions about the progress of your artwork, • Recognise and respond to the techniques of selected artists, , , There is no set 'homework' but you may wish to experiment with techniques or processes learned in the sessions and do further work in your own time., , There is no qualification for this course., , There is limited parking on site, but there is a public car park nearby and on-street parking. This course is for students who would like to try out a less formal approach to learning about Art. It is suitable for beginners and those with some experience.
