The Complete Potter - Short Course

A course for those with some experience as well as complete beginners. It is designed to cover elementary and more advanced techniques including hand building, wheel work and many varied decorative processes. The emphasis will be on discovering your own creativity in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Beginners will learn basic techniques including pinch pots, slabs, coils, moulds, cylinders, using external artefacts to put together practical and aesthetically pleasing objects. You will learn how to use the electric and 'kick' wheels to throw pots. The course will include guidance on design and decoration with an emphasis on texture, colours and glazes to enhance their craft.
