Ideal if: you are interested in caring for animals as a career. You'll need: one GCSE at grade E or above in English or mathematics, or an equivalent qualification. You'll learn: the theory and practice of caring for a range of animals including small mammals, birds and farm animals. You'll cover topics such as handling and feeding animals, cleaning their accommodation, exercising and basic health care. Expect: to study functional skills in English, IT and mathematics and develop your employability skills. You'll love: the chance to develop good practical skills with a range of animal species. You'll go onto: continue your studies on a full-time course, such as our Animal Management City & Guilds level 2 Diploma or Animal Management Duchy College Zoo Diploma, or progression to an animal care apprenticeship.
