Agriculture City & Guilds (NPTC) Diploma Level 2

This full time course is for school leavers who see their future in the agricultural and allied industries. It will develop skills and knowledge of a range of agricultural enterprises reflecting the farming of the area. Ideal if: you are hoping to work in agriculture and would like to get to know the industry better. You'll need: four GCSEs at grade D or above, including English and mathematics, or equivalent qualifications. You'll learn: practical farming skills and gain a deeper understanding about how a farm really works as well as studying subjects such as agricultural business, crop husbandry, livestock husbandry, farm machinery operation and maintenance. Expect: to attend college for four days a week and undertake work placement one day a week plus a two week block in the spring or summer term. You'll love: gaining a wide variety of experience from practical work on the College farm. You'll go onto: employment in agriculture or progression to further full-time study or an agriculture apprenticeship.
