ESOL: Preparation for Life

This 7 part course will help you to develop your speaking and listening skills but will also include reading & writing. You will take part in discussions and role-plays and learn how to make a presentation. You will improve your computer skills and feel more confident. Part 1: Living in the UK 21th September - 22th September 2015 We will talk about customs and traditions and learn about festivals in the UK. You will get to know the UK and find out about places of interest using the internet and give a group presentation. Part 2: My Community 5th October - 6th October 2015 Where do you live? You will learn how to describe your area and talk to your neighbours. We will look at leaflets and websites for advice and guidance. Part 3: Leisure and Lifestyle 19th October - 20th October 2015 We will discuss and share ideas on different lifestyles. You will develop the skills to express your views and opinions on leisure activities. Part 4: Health 2nd November - 3rd November 2015 You will share ideas about healthy living and give a presentation. We will discuss different types of food and look at famous dishes from around the world. Part 5: Education 16th November - 17th November 2015 You will compare the education in the UK to your country. We will discuss your learning experiences and look at different ways of learning. Part 6: Communicate with Confidence 23rd November - 24th November 2015 You will practise for your speaking and listening exams. You will communicate in everyday situations and express your views and opinions on current issues and topics and give a presentation. Part 7: Speaking & Listening Exams 30th November - 1st December 2015 Lots of tips, techniques to help you pass your exams for example confidence building and relaxation exercises. You will take your Speaking & Listening exam on the 24th November.
