This is an introduction to the basic skills required to work as a professional chef in the industry. You will be working in groups with specialist tutors. Your course will cover the basic cooking and preparation methods and involve you producing and serving food in the training restaurant which is open to the general public.As part of their course students will complete a Level 1 Certificate in General Food and Beverage Service, which provides the basic skills required to work in the food industry and the BII Level 2 Award in Food Safety. Depending upon exam results students may also study three functional skills (ICT, Numeracy and English).
