Photography may be considered as a way of exploring, recording and analysing the visual world. Although the medium requires a methodical and systematic approach, the course also encourages creative and experimental work.The AS/A2 Photography programme at Brooklands College is a successful and stimulating course, which is based on the traditional practices of darkroom based black and white photography but increasingly uses digital imagery. This includes tuition on the initial taking of a photograph (the camera, subject lighting, exposure), through processing of film and printing of negatives or the uploading of files to produce thumbnails, to the final presentation of prints. Facilities include a fully equipped darkroom (Durst and De Vere enlargers), a film processing room and two studios with flash and tungsten lighting.
