Paper Arts

Make intricate papercuts using scissors and knives. Manipulate paper in to 3D forms and textures, learn basic pop-up mechanisms and modify a found book to retell a story or create an artwork. Helpful for design development in textiles, printmaking, graphics and as unique decorations and greetings cards. Group and individual activities are arranged to suit personal projects and interests. Enjoy the creative exchange of ideas with lots of books and samples to get you started, together with historical and contemporary references.

Entry requirements

All the basics are provided, but a comfortable pair of sharp pointed scissors, and a small collection of different plain and coloured or toned papers will be helpful. For the book option please bring a book suitable for cutting into. Both paper and hardbacks are suitable, but better quality paper is more effective.
