For students who have a good knowledge of basic jewellery making techniques wishing to develop their own ideas and improve their skills to a professional level. Students should have attended jewellery making classes regularly for a year and feel confident to work independently. Visual research and the development of original ideas are an important aspect of this course

Entry requirements

All tools needed to take part in the course are available in the workshop. We also provide basic materials in reasonable quantities, such as base metals, paper, acrylics, enamel etc. There are some items you will need to purchase yourself such as precious metals (silver and gold), stones, saw blades and specific sized drill bits. Your tutor will help you assess your material requirements for each project and provide a list of suppliers. It would also be helpful to bring: an A5 sketchbook to record your progress and design ideas and a pencil/ pen for taking notes. An apron and hair band to tie back long hair.
