This course is an introduction to Book Restoration. Students will become familiar with several types of basic repairs on old/new damaged bindings and will look at the book structure in theory level as well as hands-on exercise. You will also learn how to judge overall conditions on damaged old books and to find appropriate treatments for them in the Western tradition. Individuals with bookbinding experience will benefit.
