Ceramics: Wheel Throwing and Turning

The course is not ideal for complete beginners without any experience of centering clay, but you can enrol. Centering is the most fundamental beginners skill to gain control of the clay while spinning around., The course provides students with the opportunity to learn the basic process of how to create forms on the throwing wheel once gaining the skill of centering. , Intermediate and advanced students are encouraged and challenged to improve their techniques by developing a range of forms which should demonstrate a personal individual signature style. , There will be daily am and pm practical demonstrations of relevant throwing techniques that will be determined by the groups requests and levels of experience and engagement. , A selection of your work will be kiln fired ready for collection in the autumn term. , There will be a guest tutor for the Thursday session which will focus on there own technique and work. , A materials charge is made for the selection of work you choose to fire at £2 per kilo,
