A hat block is the mould upon which the hat maker creates the shape of the hat. Felt and straw materials can be stretched and shaped and this can be repeated many times. Traditionally made by hand from wood, blocks are carved to a chosen design and are very expensive. , This course provides a unique opportunity to develop this valuable practical skill whilst creating these essential pieces of equipment economically. , No previous experience of the subject is required.,
