Machine embroidery - experienced

The creative course will explore more advanced machine embroidery processes, such as working with dissolvable fabric techniques, layering, applying fabrics, cutting, working with waxed surfaces and paper, integrating techniques etc. there will be demonstrations and step by step guidance from the tutor, to aid the production of your portfolio of creative embroidered samples which may culminate in an individual final creative piece or pieces of machine embroidery.

Entry requirements

To begin with – pictures to work from and to inspire you. A sewing machine, preferably manual as the course will focus on free machine embroidery; machine and hand threads; remnants of fabrics, organza’s, bits of velvets, sparkly fabrics etc.; plain fabrics; dressmakers pins; hand and machine needles; sharp fabric scissors; embroidery hoop – small/medium or whatever you have.
