Students are shown media techniques in pencil, pastels, conte, charcoal, ink, watercolours, acrylics. The students' own subject matter is developed to enable them to create their own drawings and paintings. The class often starts with demonstration, hand-outs and slides, followed by students' own practical work. Tuition is often highly individual. Students will be able to create their own drawings and paintings. A College Certificate will be awarded on request.Some theory will be studied, although the majority of time will be spent on practical work, to enable students to create their own pieces and develop their skills.Students may progress to further art courses within the leisure programme or one of the many accredited courses college runs.
