Level 2 Diploma Motor Vehicle Light Vehicle Technician - Work Based

The qualification includes the following areas: - Carrying out routine vehicle maintenance - Removing and replacing engine units - Electrical auxiliary units - Chassis units and components - Removing and replacing vehicle transmission - Driveline units components. Students undertaking the NVQ will be assessed in the workplace. Students will be provided with a portfolio containing guidance and will be assisted with tracking the evidence they collect to complete the qualification. There will be no formal teaching, as candidates will be expected to have sufficient underpinning knowledge from their industrial experience. Candidates will be expected to have sufficient skills from their industrial experience, but feedback will be given after assessment where awarding body standards have not been met.Once you have enrolled onto the programme you will be assigned an assessor that will visit you in the workplace regularly. They will complete assessment plans and reviews with you to keep you on target. They will support you in the collection of the required evidence needed for your qualification through different assessment methods such as; professional discussion, observations, written questions, verbal questions, witness statements and any assignments.Candidates may be able to progress onto the Level 3 qualification, or other related qualifications.
