Level 3 Basic Mobile Air Conditioning (Unit 1 only) (City & Guilds)

The day will split between classroom session which covers the under pinning knowledge for the unit and workshop sessions to carry out the practical aspects of this unit. Unit 1 Refrigerant Handling for Mobile Air Conditioning Systems is the licence to practice unit and will be required to purchase R134A gas after 04/07/2010. The assessment for unit 1 includes a practical based assignment combined with an oral test which covers the knowledge requirements for the unit. The test will be carried out under controlled conditions by an assessor following the successful completion of the sessions learning activities. A mix of theory and practical Dependant on course, Unit 1 = basic system operation as this is about gas handling/legal requirements-Unit 2 = more involved, components, location/operation, how they interact with each other and how the system works as a whole, giving an excellent grounding for Unit3 diagnosis and rectificationThe course will be delivered using a mixture of theoretical learning and practical simulation / demonstration and assessment in the workshop.Progression to other units: - Unit 2 - Testing and Servicing Mobile Air Conditioning Systems Unit 3 - Advanced Diagnostics for Mobile Air Conditioning System Completion of the above units will result in a full certificate mobile air conditioning.
