This course is designed to support the parent helper, who may be new to the classroom, in developing the requisite skills and competencies which are needed to work effectively in the primary education setting. This course is also appropriate for those considering a career change to becoming a Teaching Assistant. This course is free-standing, but also forms part of a comprehensive preparation for the QCF qualification for those supporting learning in the classroom in the primary phase. You will ascertain your own preferred learning style and the impact that this may have on your work with children. You will gain an understanding of key aspects needed for successful integration into the classroom delivery team including, The role of the TA Communication and working in teams, Support strategies, Special Education Needs and behaviour management. We will also look at routes for further progression
