Make A Line Skirt In A Day

UPDATED 20160104 15:01:45

Spend the day making an A line skirt. You will need to purchase suitable fabric to make a skirt, i.e cotton or lightweight denim. For sizes 8 - 18 you will need 1.8m of fabric 115cm wide, or 1.5m of 150cm wide. If the fabric is lightweight you will need a lining (polyester), or similar fabric, approximately the same length as the skirt fabric. There will be several styles of skirt patterns available to use, or please bring your own. During the day you will work with a commercial pattern, prepare your fabric, check your size and lay your pattern on the fabric ready to cut. You will then cut out the skirt, sew in the zip and add the waist band or facing, depending on the style of pattern used. Once the skirt is made you can level the hem and complete the hem line, either by invisible hand sewing or machine finish.
