What do I need to get onto this study programme? Five GCSEs at grade A-C and you will be required to attend an interview/ practical audition. What will I do on this study programme? This programme of study offers students the chance to discover all the facets that make up this creative art. From performing in musicals, to acting in scripted plays and devising your own work this will give you the very best chance of progression into your individual specialist choices or into the industry. You will gain an excellent skills base in performing arts with many opportunities for workshops, theatre work including performance, back stage and front of house, industry work experience and much more. With the use of the latest technology in our recently refurbished facilities you will have an amazing experience on this practical and work-related study programme. Some of the topics you will study include Acting skills and styles Performance workshop Improvisation and devising plays Historical context Performing arts business Physical theatre Voice. Maths and English is a fundamental element of this study programme. Skills in Maths and English will be embedded into your academic/ vocational learning. If you do not have a grade C in Maths and/or English you will attend a discrete GCSE or Functional Skills class as part of your weekly timetable. How will I be assessed? You will be assessed through practical and written assignments by both internal and external moderators. What options do I have after successfully completing? Progress to Musical Theatre, Foundation Degree leading onto the top-up BA (Hons) year, run at Weston College in partnership with Bath Spa University Performing Arts, Foundation Degree leading onto the top-up BA (Hons) year, run at Weston College in partnership with Bath Spa University Various degrees at most universities Drama school.
