What will I do on this course? This study programme will be an exciting route into delivering specialist beauty therapy treatments. During the course you will learn, practice and perform various advanced treatments including, facial electricals, microdermabrasion, body massage and body electrical treatments to awarding body and industry standards. You will be expected to manage your time effectively and work independently which includes, self-directed study and independent learning. Your consultation skills will be fine-tuned to accommodate more intimate procedures. You will undertake two weeks work experience in industry (salon or Spas) and complete Functional skills dependent on GCSE grades, and take part in enterprise activities. You will develop your advanced beauty therapy skills through the study of the following units Monitor and maintain health and safety practice Client care and communication Workplace practices and procedures Promote and sell products and services Body massage Facial electrotherapy treatments Body electrotherapy treatments Nail enhancements (gel and acrylic). You will further develop your knowledge and apply the skills you have learned through working in a real life commercial salon and attending work placements throughout the year where you will develop your employability skills. In addition, tutorial support, personal and social development, and Maths and English development are fundamental elements of this study programme and will be embedded into your vocational learning. If you do not have a grade C in Maths and/or English you will attend a discrete GCSE or Functional skills class as part of your weekly timetable. How will I be assessed? We will assess you all through the year with online tests, practical work, assignments and projects. You will also have an online gradebook that you will keep up-to-date and you will manage targets that have been set throughout the year for you by
