What will I do on this apprenticeship? Apprenticeships are all about learning on the job. You'll spend most of your week at work - in a hotel or a restaurant. You may come in to college for a day a week for practical training, theory and demos. You will have the chance to learn about your area of Hospitality and Catering and get the skills you need for your career. Depending on where you work, you will choose pathways that relate to your job such as Professional cookery, Hospitality supervision and leadership. Skills in Maths and English will be embedded into your academic/ vocational learning. If you do not have a grade C in Maths and/or English you will attend a discrete GCSE or Functional Skills class as part of your weekly timetable. How will I be assessed? We'll assess your practical skills and observe you at work. You'll get your own personal assessor who will visit you at work to review your progress and make sure that you are on target to get your qualifications. What options do I have after successfully completing? Progress to A relevant Foundation Degree at Weston College Another degree-level study programme. Job/career opportunities A job as a chef in the hospitality and catering industry A wide range of other careers in this sector.
