Never used a computer before but need to learn the basics? Want to gain confidence before you start on that new job or career search? This course will get you started. We'll help you use a computer and guide you through some of the jargon. Here's what you will learn to do; Start up and close down a computer safely; Familiarise yourself with a computer keyboard and mouse; Basic introduction to Microsoft Word for word processing, formatting (changing the way documents look); Save your documents; saving, moving, copying, deleting, renaming files and folders; Explore the internet; Set up an email address; How to fill in on line forms. By the end of the course you will have gained skills and confidence in using a variety of software packages that are applicable to the workplace.
