If you have a learning difficulty or disability, this course is your opportunity to gain a wide variety of practical and work related skills. You will develop and practise a range of skills including Preparation for Work, Working as Part of a Group, Customer Service, and Health and Safety. And you can choose to specialise in either Production (recycling and pottery) or Catering. If you study full time, you will have the opportunity to take part in the Young Enterprise Team Programme, which involves working in a group to present your ideas, set up a new enterprise and create products to sell. Our students have won the West Derbyshire Area team awards for the past three years. You'll study for up to four days each week. You'll gain a Learning for Living and Work: Entry 3 Diploma in Skills for Working Life Functional Skills qualifications in Maths, English and ICT. You can go on to study the Pathway 2 Progression: Level 1 Certificate/Diploma in Vocational Studies course or a Level 1 course in a specialist subject.
