You'll develop occupational competence for the Children and Young People's Workforce. As you'll already be working in a childcare setting, you'll have the chance to put all the theory into practice while you're at work. It will equip you with transferable skills that are relevant to many jobs, including those in early years and social care. You will study both children and young people's units, and health and social care units. The subjects you'll study relate to children of all ages - from birth to 19 years. You may need to pay for specialist materials associated with this course. You will gain a CACHE Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People's Workforce Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English a paediatric first aid qualification. You could move on to various job roles including assistant playgroup worker, assistant in a children's centre, registered child-minder or nanny. Alternatively you could move on to study the CACHE Level 3 Diploma or Apprenticeship for Children and Young People's Workforce.
